How scoring works
When you call a video, a 24-hour timer starts. When it matures (or you cash out early), your reward and card Score lock in for good using these factors:
A second factor discounts calls on creators who already have a big built-in audience.
A third factor rewards patience. Cashing out early gets you a reduced payout, and holding the full 24 hours to natural maturity earns a bonus on top of the full rate.
Your credit reward combines all three, plus a boost card if you applied one to Reward:
reward = round( growth^0.5 Γ bonus Γ size factor Γ hold factor Γ boost Γ scale )
growth = final likes Γ· likes when you called it, curved with a square root so massive spikes don't explode the payout
Reward has a cap so a single freak catch can't flood the economy. A boost card raises your own cap when you use it, on top of raising the reward itself:
Every settled call also mints a card. Its Score uses the same bonus, size, and hold factors, applied to how much the video grew rather than raw likes gained, so a skillful small-channel call can outscore a mega-channel card pulled purely from scale. Score is out of 1,000, and gets harder to move the closer it gets to the top, so no single catch can ever tower over the rest of the game:
score = round( 1000 Γ raw Γ· (raw + 120) )
raw = βgrowth Γ bonus Γ size factor Γ hold factor Γ boost (if applied to Score)
When you apply a boost card, you choose whether its multiplier goes toward Reward or Score, not both. Boosting Reward pays off most on your biggest catches. Boosting Score matters most on an everyday call, since Score's slowdown near the top means a boost can't meaningfully break the ceiling on an already-huge catch.
Rarity is a separate random roll at mint time, unrelated to growth or score:
All multipliers lock in the moment you make the call (or when you cash out), they never change, no matter what anyone else does.
Salvage Cards
β‘ Burn 3 exhausted cards β 1 fresh Boost card
Only cards/boosts with zero boost uses remaining are eligible. Rarity of the new Boost card is random. Cards are gone for good once burned.

FAQ
What is Hypecall?
Hypecall turns the "investing at 20 likes" comments you see on viral videos into an actual game. You spot a video before it blows up, "call it," and get scored on how right you were, no real money involved.
How does calling a video work?
Find a real video (paste a YouTube/Shorts link), hit "Call it" while it still has a low like count. A 24-hour timer starts, and when it ends, your score locks in based on how much the video grew. You can only call each video once, ever, so timing matters.
Can I cash out before the 24 hours are up?
Yes, "Cash out early" on the On the Clock page settles your pick immediately using the current numbers, giving up any further growth. Useful if you want a card in hand right now instead of waiting.
What are Picks?
Picks are what you spend to call a video. You have up to 20 at a time (40 if you're Premium), and they refill on their own: 1 every 30 minutes.
What's a multiplier?
Two multipliers decide your reward: an early-bird bonus (the fewer likes a video had when you called it, the bigger the bonus) and a creator-size factor (the smaller/less-known the channel, the bigger the factor). Both lock in the moment you call: call an unknown creator's video at 20 likes and you get the biggest possible multiplier; call a huge channel's video and the multiplier shrinks a lot, even if the raw growth is bigger. The exact tiers are on the "How scoring works" page.
How is my score calculated?
reward = growth Γ early-bird bonus Γ creator-size factor Γ boost Γ 10, locked in when your pick settles. The full breakdown is on the "How scoring works" page.
What are cards?
Every settled call mints you a card: title, rarity (Silver/Gold/Diamond based on the odds), a Score, and a serial number. Cards can be applied as a boost to a future pick, burned (3 cards β 1 Pick), listed in the Auction House, or shown off in your Profile Showcase.
What does Score mean on a card?
Score reflects how many likes the video actually gained while your pick was open, a rough measure of how big a win that card represents.
What are boost cards?
Apply a card to a future pick before calling for a reward boost: Silver +10%, Gold +25%, Diamond +60%. Each card can be used as a boost up to 3 times before it's tapped out (it stays in your inventory either way, just without boost charges left).
What's a Channel Card?
Call 10 videos from the same creator (all settled) and you'll automatically earn a bonus "Fan Card" for that channel, on top of your normal cards. Fully repeatable, keep supporting the same creator for more.
What's the Auction House?
A real marketplace: list your cards for timed auction (with an optional instant Buy Now price), bid Picks on other users' listings, search and filter by rarity/score/serial number. You can cancel your own listing anytime before it sells. Selling takes a 10% fee out of the final sale price (5% if you're Premium); the rest goes straight to your balance.
What are Duels?
Power Clash: pick 3 cards, and each round secretly reveals whether higher or lower Score wins. Try it solo against a practice hand in Arcade, or queue for a real opponent in Duels.
What's the Profile Showcase?
Pick up to 5 of your favorite cards to display publicly on your profile. Use "View as others see it" to check how it looks to visitors.
Is real money involved anywhere?
No, Picks can't currently be purchased with real money, and none of your in-game currency has any real-world cash value. Premium is a real subscription concept but isn't wired to real payment processing yet.
How do I get more Picks?
Picks refill on their own, 1 every 30 minutes, up to 20 (40 if you're Premium). You can also burn 3 cards for an instant extra Pick, or ask an admin if you're testing with friends.
I'm brand new, do I start with anything?
Yes, every new account gets 3 free starter cards immediately, so there's something to try in Duels, the Auction House, and your Showcase before your first real pick even matures.
Is there a browser extension?
Yes, the Hypecall extension adds a "Hypecall it" button directly on YouTube video pages, next to Like/Share. Click it and it reads the video's title, current like count, and channel info straight off the page, then calls it for you, no copy-pasting the link into the site. You still need to be logged into your Hypecall account (the extension has its own quick login), and the usual rules still apply: one call per video, ever, and it spends a Pick like normal. Grab it from the "Add to Chrome" button on the Home page.
How does leveling up work?
Every settled pick awards XP based on that pick's Score, the better the catch, the more XP you get. XP fills a bar toward your next level, and each level takes a bit more XP than the last. There's no cap on how much you can play toward it, the curve just gets steeper as you climb, up to a maximum of Level 100.
What do I get for leveling up?
Right now leveling up is a visible sign of how much you've played and how well you've called, shown on your profile and in the sidebar. A soft green pulse flashes across the screen whenever you level up. More rewards tied to levels may be added later.
Does XP affect my Credits or Score?
No, XP is completely separate. It doesn't change your reward payout or your card's Score, it only tracks long term progress toward your next level.

Privacy policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
This policy covers both the Hypecall website and the Hypecall browser extension. It explains what data we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.
1. What we collect
Account information: the username, email address, and password you provide when you create a Hypecall account. Your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and is never visible to us in plain text.
Video call data: when you call a video, we store the video's title, URL, channel name and URL, like count, and subscriber count at the time you called it. This is the core data the game is built on.
Gameplay data: your Picks balance, cards, credits, and other in-game state tied to your account.
2. The Hypecall browser extension
The extension reads the title, like count, channel, and duration of the YouTube video or Short you choose to call, directly from the page you're viewing, and submits it to your Hypecall account the same way pasting a link into the website would. For Shorts, it also fetches the equivalent YouTube watch page in the background to read the exact like count (Shorts' compact player only shows an abbreviated one). Your login session (an authentication token) is stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. We don't have separate access to it, and it never leaves your browser except to authenticate with our own backend.
3. What we don't collect
We don't track your general browsing history, only the specific videos you choose to call. We don't collect health, financial/payment, or location data. We don't log keystrokes, mouse movement, or clicks outside of our own button. We don't use analytics trackers or advertising SDKs in the extension.
4. Where your data goes
Account and gameplay data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except as necessary to operate Hypecall itself (for example, our hosting and database providers).
5. Your choices
You can log out of the extension at any time from its toolbar popup, which clears your stored session. To delete your account or request removal of your data, contact us at hypecall.admin@gmail.com.
6. Children's privacy
Hypecall is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Hypecall or the extension after a change means you accept the updated policy.
